Hosted Apache Solr shut down on October 31, 2022. Read this FAQ for more details.

Why did Hosted Apache Solr shut down?

I started Hosted Apache Solr started in 2008, and it has served up tens of millions of searches for Drupal websites in the past 14 years.

I've personally used the service for my own website (JeffGeerling.com, but I decided it's time to move on and focus on other ventures in my life.

I'm sorry about ending the service, but I wanted to make sure to end it on a positive note, giving you time to migrate.

When will Hosted Apache Solr shut down?

On October 31, 2022, all accounts that were still active were closed by the Hosted Apache Solr team.

If I'm an active customer, can I get a refund?

We reached out in August to all existing customers to inform them of the timeline for closing out their accounts. All customer accounts were closed and pro-rated refunds offered by mid-November, 2022.
