Hosted Apache Solr Sunsetting FAQ

Why is Hosted Apache Solr shutting down?

I started Hosted Apache Solr started in 2008, and it has served up tens of millions of searches for Drupal websites in the past 14 years.

I've personally used the service for my own website (JeffGeerling.com, but I decided it's time to move on and focus on other ventures in my life.

I'm sorry about ending the service, but I wanted to make sure to end it on a positive note, giving you time to migrate.

When will Hosted Apache Solr shut down?

On October 31, 2022, all accounts that are still active will be closed by the Hosted Apache Solr team.

If I'm an active customer, can I get a refund?

We will be reaching out in August to all existing customers to inform them of the timeline for closing out their accounts. You can work with support to end your subscription sooner (and receive a pro-rated refund), or you may choose to leave your subscription alone and we will cancel it for you on October 31, 2022.

Please contact support if you have any further questions.

I need help finding a hosted Solr search service to replace Hosted Apache Solr, do you have recommendations?
